Selling your BC VQA, 100% BC grape and 100% BC non-grape wine in the Wine Growers British Columbia (WGBC) Wines of British Columbia Stores WGBC Wines of British Columbia Store licences belong to WGBC and are individually operated under a third-party agreement that stipulates specific requirements and considerations including fair and equitable access for all 100% BC wines. The following details will help you begin selling your 100% BC wine in the WGBC’s Wines of British Columbia Stores. BC VQA Wine Approval: BC Wine Authority (BCWA) and BC Liquor Distribution Branch (BC LDB) • To receive BC VQA preferential listing and merchandising advantages in WGBC’s Wines of BritishColumbia Wine Stores, your wine must be BC VQA approved. 100% BC grape and 100% BC non-grape winehave limited shelving opportunities.• Please contact Lorrie Zander (Lorrie.Zander@BCVQA.ca) at the BCWA for the assessmentschedule and to have your wine assessed. BC VQA assessments usually run every two weeks. The stores, which sell only 100% BC VQA Wine, and limited amounts of 100% BC grape and non-grape (e.g. cider, fruit) wine, are contracted out and run by third-party operators. Special Wine Store Licences Special Wine Store licences, as auctioned by the Province of British Columbia directly to grocers (aka Bill 22 licences), are separate and distinct from the BC VQA Wine Store Licences and operated independently of Wine Growers British Columbia. Wine Growers British Columbia Member Winery Dues Wine Growers British Columbia Member Winery dues, separate from Wines of British Columbia Wine Store sales royalty collected by WGBC, are invoiced at $0.10/litre (minimum annual flat fee of $100) for ALL 100% BC grape wine (BC VQA and Non-BC VQA) sold in BC at every distribution channel, as reported through the BC LDB.
